Got Jesus?
Jesus loves children! He wants to help you and guide you like a shepherd takes care of his sheep and carries the little lambs in His arms. The Bible says that all people, like sheep, have wandered away from God. Everyone has turned away from God and done bad things at some time in their lives. These bad things we do or bad thoughts we have are called sin. Sin stops us from getting close to God. Because Jesus is the Son of God who lived a perfect life without sin, He decided to take the punishment of our sin upon Himself. He took the sin of everyone in the world upon Himself when He died on the cross and shed His blood to forgive us from our sin. Jesus became "the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29) Jesus rose from the dead to give eternal life to those who believe on Him as their Lord and Savior.
You can know right now that God has saved you from sin, forgiven you, and given you eternal life forever in heaven. The Bible says if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9,10). Just pray this prayer right now:
"Dear God, I know that I have done wrong things and have sin in my life. I thank you that you sent your Son Jesus to die on the cross to pay for my sin with His precious blood. I accept Jesus right now as my Lord and Savior, and I believe that you raised Him from the dead. Thank you for loving me, forgiving my sin, and giving me eternal life with you in heaven. From now on, I will live my life for you. I pray this in Jesus’ Name, AMEN.”
Congratulations! Now you are a follower of Jesus! You can KNOW that you are saved and are going to heaven. I John 5:12 says, "He who has the Son [Jesus] has life.” John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) Be sure to read your Bible so you can grow in your faith in Jesus and talk to God in prayer every day. Ask your parents if you can go to a good Bible teaching church if you do not have a church home. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, so you will grow more like Jesus by doing these things.
